Privacy Policy

Account & identity. Your name, username, email address, phone number (used for one-time-password sign-in), and a profile photo if you choose to add one.

Will content you provide. The information you enter into your will — which may include your full name, address, national ID number, your assets, and the names and contact details of the beneficiaries, trustees, executors, and lawyer you choose to name. You decide what to enter.

Documents & media. Files and photos you upload — for example an identity document, a lawyer’s credential, or a death certificate — and, on the premium plan, any voice or video messages you record for the people you name.

Bookings & messages. Consultations you book with a lawyer and the messages exchanged in the in-app chat.

Payments. Your subscription status and purchase history. Card and PayPal details are entered directly on the payment provider’s page and are not stored by us. Lawyers who receive payouts provide their payout details (such as an IBAN or PayPal email).

Device data. A push-notification token so we can send you notifications.

We do not collect your location.

• To create and secure your account and sign you in.
• To let you create, store, share, and execute your will.
• To process subscriptions and lawyer payments.
• To verify uploaded documents (for example, checking that a lawyer’s credential or a death certificate is genuine) using an automated document-verification service.
• To send you notifications and service messages.
• To provide support and keep the service safe and working.

Your will content and uploaded documents can be sensitive. We treat them as confidential, encrypt them while in transit, and — for premium wills — encrypt them at rest. Access is limited to what is needed to provide the service: a lawyer you invite can review your will, and the trustees you name take part in the will-release process you set up.

We do not sell your personal data. We use trusted service providers that process data on our behalf and only to provide the features above:

• Cloud hosting and file storage — DigitalOcean
• Push notifications — Google Firebase Cloud Messaging
• SMS one-time passwords — Twilio
• Transactional email — SendGrid
• Subscription management — RevenueCat
• Payments — PayPal
• Automated document verification — Anthropic

These providers are permitted to use the data only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information where required by law.

All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Premium will content is additionally encrypted at rest. We apply access controls, and sign-in is protected by one-time passwords and optional device biometrics (Face ID or fingerprint), which never leave your device.

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete Account in the app. Your account is then deactivated for a 30-day grace period, during which you can restore it — and all your data — simply by signing back in. We send a reminder 3 days before permanent deletion. After the 30 days, your account and all associated data (wills, documents, bookings, messages, payment records, and uploaded files) are permanently deleted.

Full instructions are on our Delete Account page. You can also delete individual wills or documents in the app without deleting your account. We may retain anonymized, aggregated data and any records we are legally required to keep (such as transaction records).

You can access and update your information in the app, delete specific data, or delete your account and all associated data. For any other request about your data, contact us using the details below.

MyWill is intended for adults and is not directed to children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
